The microKORG2 retains some of the iconic aspects of the original, including its conveniently portable size, easy-to-play mini keybed, large dial for selecting program type or the vocoder with dedicated microphone, while also offering an all-new, powerful sound engine, available programs, a visually stunning user interface, and more.

microKORG2 retains the iconic single-knob style selector for intuitive sound browsing, as well as five dedicated edit knobs for quick manipulation of your chosen parameter. The library selection concept has also been expanded with a new classification system, so you can capture the ever-changing sounds of each era, including classic, modern and future.

It hasA new lookofcontrol Panel, and is equipped with a 2.8-inch color display. Edit sounds intuitively with animated parameter guides that keep all five knobs clearly visible for easy adjustments. Want to see how your edits sound? With just a click of a button, the display turns into an oscilloscope, allowing you to see the sound come to life with your own eyes.

Newly designed sound processor

The original microKORG was renowned for its easy-to-use vocoder with a dedicated microphone, which is one of the reasons for its enduring popularity.

The microKORG2 takes this concept to the next level and features an all-new, powerful sound processor. In addition to the Vocoder effect, this new sound processor features the industry-standard hard-tune pitch correction effect, and a Harmonizer that lets you pitch-shift and layer original sounds. You can also apply reverb, delay, and other effects to the signal output of the sound processor.

Inspiring Loop Recorder

The new microKORG features a looper that lets you create backing tracks by looping and overdubbing a given musical part, making it an ideal tool for mobile live performances. Three dedicated buttons—Record, Play/Stop, and Undo/Redo—make loop recording simple enough for anyone.

Thanks to its easily accessible dedicated menus, recording and playback settings can be easily modified, so any player can start making music in no time.

Of course, the microKORG wouldn’t be complete without a built-in, easy-to-use arpeggiator.

Travel through time with new synth sounds

microKORG2 expands the iconic sonic palette, introducing genre-based categories and a library selector for quick access to an incredibly diverse range of sounds in classic, modern, and future categories. Genre-based categories and library selectors let you quickly find the right sound for any genre without endless and tedious browsing through presets. Three banks with eight genre categories offer eight preset programs each, and you can save up to 64 programs in the User library for your personal favorites.

microKORG2 is a virtual analog synthesizer that mimics analog circuits. One of the hallmarks of virtual analog synthesizers is that there are no physical limitations to the circuit layout, which gives you a broad canvas to create your own sounds, allowing you to transcend classic, modern, and future eras.

The microKORG2 offers virtual sound capabilities in a compact form factor, providing the sound features that users are already familiar with when creating sounds using analog circuits.

Greatly enhanced effect

To expand the range of synthesized sounds as much as possible, Korg developed three families of effects, including nine new types of modulation (with dynamics), six delays, and reverb. The three series of effects can be turned on/off independently, and the wet/dry ratio of the effects can be adjusted individually.

The signal is routed through the effects and output to a two-band parametric EQ with adjustable low and high frequency bands so you can tweak the final character of the sound. Users can create sounds from start to finish using only the new microKORG, without the need for external mixers or effects processing.
