Features

New multi-touch keyboard:
The NTS-1 mkII features an all-new 18-note multi-touch keyboard that replaces the first-generation ribbon controller, allowing for precise playing and sequencing. This upgrade unlocks the ability to send MIDI note messages polyphonically, opening the door to custom oscillators and effects that take advantage of the NTS-1's parallel tuning potential.

Powerful new engine, sounds and effects:
The NTS-1 mkII is an extremely powerful, flexible, and fun to explore synthesizer. While retaining the versatile capabilities of its predecessor, this new version adds a host of new sounds, including new oscillator types and modulation possibilities to create FM, AM or RING sounds using its audio input signal as a modulation source.

The NTS-1 mkII is also a powerful and expandable FX unit. In the mkII we have added many new modulation (distortion, fuzz...), delay (tape delay, BPM-synced delay...) and reverb effects, as well as convenient oscillator off and filter pass functions, making it a uniquely versatile rig that will meet all your needs at home or on stage.

The center of the performance:
In addition to the powerful arpeggiator, the new 8-step sequencer opens up a whole new world of musical possibilities. The NTS-1 mkII offers both Live and Stepwise recording modes (with per-note gate length and velocity settings), combined with a new keyboard and simple octave switching for an intuitive, seamless playing experience.

But that’s not all! The NTS-1 mkII has a MIDI OUT output, so you can use its internal sequencer to control other devices in your setup.

Stimulate your creativity:
The NTS-1 mkII can help you escape the pain of forgetting your creative spark. The new Autosave feature recalls all the parameters used in your last performance, including Step Sequencer data, so you can pick up where you left off. No more struggling to remember knob adjustments and pattern edits!

Customization and 3D data:
The new NTS-1 mkII retains the original DIY kit format and offers new customization options, including double-sided anodized silver and metallic black side panels. Don't worry, we kept the same form factor and dimensions as its predecessor, which means custom sides, brackets, and other custom parts will still fit!

Due to its DIY nature and open design, the NTS-1 mkII is a highly customizable synthesizer that can be modified in a variety of ways. In addition to the open-source logueSDK that allows users to create their own custom oscillators and effects, the NTS-1 mkII's hardware can also be physically modified in both appearance and functionality. To help you get started with physical customization, we've included the necessary schematics and instructions to personalize your NTS-1 mkII in many different ways!
