Wave Sequencing 2.0
Wave Sequencing 2.0 separates timing, sample sequencing, and melody so that each can be manipulated independently. New features have also been added, including shape, gate time, and step sequencer values. Each of these is a "lane", and each lane can have a different number of steps and its own start, end, and loop points.
Each time the sequence moves forward, the individual channels are combined to create the output. For example, a sample can be matched to different duration, pitch, shape, gate length, and step sequence values each time it is played. You can modulate the start, end, and loop points of each channel for each note individually using velocity, LFO, envelope, modulation knob, or other controllers. Each note in a chord can play something different!
Powerful sample database
The sample library of Wavestate SE is over a thousand times larger than that of the original WAVESTATION.
It has sample libraries from Plugin Guru, brand new samples from KORG, and selected samples from the NAUTILUS, KRONOS, and KROME libraries.
Of course, KORG also provides all the samples from WAVESTATION (including all options), as well as the huge library of WAVESTATION Wave Sequences.
Play back up to 120 stereo sounds with pristine clarity using KORG's proprietary anti-aliased sample playback technology.
Effect
Wavestate's superior effects deliver production-ready sounds.
Each layer has three dedicated effects; in addition, the Performance features a master reverb and a parametric EQ.
In addition to standards like compressor, EQ, chorus, flanger, phaser and stereo delay, it features unique processors like Waveshaper, Talk Modulator, Reverse Delay, Multiband Modulation Delay and Overb (from OASYS), plus modeled effects including VOX Guitar Amplifier, VOX Wah, Multi-Head Tape Echo, and a host of classic guitar pedals.
It has an aggressive MS-20 low-pass or high-pass filter built in, as well as a punchy, sweet Polysix low-pass filter. You can use a full range of resonant 2-pole and 4-pole low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and band-stop filters for shaping and refinement. Or, think outside the box with KORG's unique Multi-Filter, which creates adjustable blends of multiple modes simultaneously.
With all this synthesis power, you might think that a waveform can only play one sound at a time. Of course not! For richer, more complex results, Wavestate can stack up to four programs in a single Performance, each with its own effects and arpeggiator. The Vector Envelope and joystick mix the individual sounds of the four layers, and can also modulate any other parameter.
