The VAD306 is a unique V-Drum Acoustic Design drum set that maintains the traditional aesthetic design direction unique to this series in a compact design. The kit takes up the same space as a medium-sized V-Drums kit, making it perfect for home and small stage use. It's shrunk to a shallower shell to save space and weight, but once in the playing position it will feel instantly familiar to any drummer. A double-stand drum stand with mid-tom and cymbal stands completes the overall setup and further enhances the traditional drum design. The TD-17 module provides all the traditional drum sounds and performance capabilities you need with natural, expressive sound, whether you’re playing drums at home or touring on a small stage.

Powerful sound and authentic performance
The core of the VAD306 is the TD-17 sound module, which is equipped with the tones of the acclaimed TD-50 sound module. It features a massive collection of traditional and contemporary drums, cymbals, and percussion, all sampled at ultra-high resolution to capture every possible velocity and detail of the drumhead strikes. Roland’s unique Prismatic Sound Modeling is combined with these samples to produce a complex, realistic tonal range, with smooth, dynamic transitions between percussive performances. The result is a playing experience that not only sounds like traditional drums—it also behaves like traditional drums.
Build your own drum kit
The TD-17 sound module comes with a wide variety of ready-to-use drum kits, including 10 new traditional drum presets tailor-made for the VAD306. The built-in drum kits sound great, and you can also use intuitive editing tools to go deeper and create your own unique personalized drum setup. The sound source is a library of drum and cymbal sounds from various eras, and you can mix and match them in any combination from the sound library. Later, you can swap out drum heads, change tuning, add muting, and even alter the virtual soundstage of the venue where you’re playing. You can even load your own samples and layer them with the built-in instruments to create completely unique, personalized drum kits.
Larger pads and wider playing range
Traditional drums are usually larger than electronic drum pads. The larger size of each drumhead can enhance the overall playing experience, not only visually, but also in terms of the striking feel and overall configuration. Therefore, the VAD306 is equipped with a 12-inch snare and floor tom, two 10-inch mid toms and an 18-inch bass drum, creating a naturally spacious playing range. The drum shell is also made of wood, and the use of drumsticks and drumsticks adds a more realistic traditional drum playing feel.
The natural feel of traditional drums
Roland's legendary multi-layer, adjustable-tension mesh drumheads deliver a truly realistic feel, allowing you to adjust the rebound of your sticks to your personal playing style. When you strike the specially designed bass drum with a drumstick, the air inside the drum shell physically moves, creating air pressure and resistance, just like when playing a traditional bass drum.

Double-bracket chrome drum stand
The way traditional drums and cymbals are mounted not only projects a classic look—it also has an impact on how they feel. The mid-drum pad is mounted on the same drum stand used for a traditional mid-drum, so the striking feel is just right. Each drum stand is double-braced for rock-solid stability and easily adjusts to fit your preferred layout.
Powerful practice tools and Bluetooth connectivity
The TD-17 sound module is equipped with many practice functions to help you become a better drummer. Built-in Bluetooth lets you wirelessly stream audio from your smartphone or laptop to your sound source, so you can put on your headphones and immerse yourself in the perfect moment of improvisational drumming. Play the drums along with your favorite music or instructional videos from YouTube. You can also play songs directly from an SD card and record your own performances at any time. The built-in coach feature helps you hone your drumming skills and even tracks your progress over time. The metronome can be set to different time signatures and beat note values to help you develop your inner sense of rhythm.
